Objective 1: After synthesizing information from the book and storyteller, students will answer reading comprehension questions at a rate of 80% or higher.
Objective 2: Students will learn meanings and signs for new words, the spelling of those words, and use their newly-acquired vocabulary as appropriate.
Objective 3: Students demonstrate comprehension of a text by arranging events in chronological order.
Objective 4: Using a globe or map, students will research a destination they want to visit and label a blank map with the names of states and major cities pass through.
Objective 5: Students demonstrate their understanding of the events of the Lewis and Clark expedition by completing a letter-writing project to a score of 70% or better.
Materials needed: Internet access and worksheets (included).
