    Activity 1: Author research

    Students work in pairs or individually to complete a graphic organizer detailing facts about the author.

    Review character traits using this short animation about a small dog with big dreams: Pip | A Short Animated Film by Southeastern Guide Dogs. After, have students list Pip’s character traits, using examples from the video to support their answers.

    Using an image of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid characters, students predict who the characters are and what those characters’ traits might be.
