• Understanding ADHD

    Trish Grooms, LMSW

    Trish Grooms, LMSW, is a school counselor with early childhood and elementary age students at Texas School for the deaf. She has been a school counselor for 20 years at TSD. Trish believes that play is essential to everyday life, no matter the age. She is also currently an interim mental health project coordinator for Statewide Outreach Center (SOC) since 2019. She earned her Master’s of Social Work from Texas State University. Her social work practice background is in school social work. Additionally, Trish has been trained as a certified MANDT Instructor since 2006. Trish has worked for a total of 35 years in both the education and human service fields. Outside of work, she volunteers with the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association to assist veterans to integrate back into civilian life as well as provide support to veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress syndrome.  She also has two adult children who were diagnosed with ADHD when they were children.  Two of her grandchildren have recently been diagnosed with ADHD as well.
