  • TEACHER NOTES:

    Use the slide presentation for the lesson with your class. There are additional teacher notes on each slide. Formal and informal assessments can be done by observing group discussions, evaluating student notebooks and/or worksheets.

    OBJECTIVES:

    • Students will identify the fable’s story elements by discussing with the class and completing a worksheet.
    • Students will identify the fable’s characteristics by discussing with the class.

    • Students will identify the fable’s theme using text evidence by discussing with the class and writing it down in their reading notebook, or doing an ASL video response.

    • Story Element Worksheets

    • A piece of paper, sticky note, or one index card per student
