To Kill A Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee and published in 1960, has become a classic among classics! This is the story of warmth and humor despite dealing with serious issues which include racial inequality. This book is read throughout the country in most High Schools as a freshman or sophomore level book. We have chosen to include this book as an adapted version so that students who are struggling readers, can have access to the same materials as their peers. We encourage everyone to use as much of the grade level text as possible, but use the adapted and abridged versions that we've included here in this Unit to support students and bridge them to a greater understanding of this classic novel.
