Videos
This page curates and selects videos that may be of interest to teachers, parents and students. These videos are selected with the target audience being those who do not live near a strong central Deaf community and who may not have access to Deaf role models. The goal is that these videos bring current events, role models, and things happening in the Deaf Community to your classroom or home.
The Story of American Sign Language
This is an interesting video that shows one version of how American Sign Language came to be. Please know that this is not the ONLY version. This video does not include everything that took place to get to where we are with American Sign Language, but it does a really nice overview that is great for visual learners. This video was produced for Mental Floss.
The Daily Moth (News in ASL)
This is just one of many videos that you may wish to use in your class. The Daily Moth is a site that discusses news that is happening around the world and is important to the Deaf community.
DTV News
This is one of multiple YouTube Channels by DTV News. These videos include voiceover and closed captions.
ASL Nook
ASL Nook is a great website that shows vocabulary building, storytelling, reading, and a variety of videos to help emphasize the use of American Sign Language with children to help their literacy skills improve.
DeafThat - The Football Huddle
