>> Hello. This is lesson plan number two, type of equipment in spacesuits. We're going to talk about all the different kinds of equipment that are used in space. And on the website there's a Web 2.0 tool that students can use and they get in and access and they can look at all the different resources from the NASA TSD partnership. Here, this is a good video that explains about how the body responds in space. The balloon expands and students can see that and relate to it. This is the Hubble Telescope. It is still orbiting the earth. And you can see the bodysuit here and it protects from all of the dangers from space. Our students had the opportunity to video themselves signing and asking questions and with that they sent it to the astronaut Tracy Caldwell. And she downloaded the questions and answered them from space and they communicated with videos and we put those videos on the website so that you can use them and look at them and learn from them or pull from them or research or whatever you would like. One of the websites that students can use, that they can get in and get a better idea of what the spacesuit does and the different parts that are involved that protect their front body or the different parts that are all over the spacesuit, they can pull from here and this is a great activity that they can use. For students that need more of a challenge, a little bit more in-depth research, they can pull from the history and show the development and evolution of the spacesuit. So now we've got a better bodysuit that's lighter and more protected than it was in the past. A long time ago the spacesuit was cumbersome and heavy and now it's lighter and easier to use so students can learn from that and put this onto their projects as well. Another offering on the website is this is a Microsoft Word document and you can pull these down and then let students fill out the worksheet themselves and they can use this for a project or a presentation or many other things. We also have an opportunity for different topics for students to think about and answer, do more research on from the website. One of the presentation tools that the students can use is here and this is just an amazing tool. This is a video that goes more in-depth and explains about the history of the space program. It gives students an opportunity to pick from all the different videos that are there from the website and there's a whole range of them and this is good for them to learn more in-depth about the space program.
