VEX Robotics for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students

  • Now for Texas Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students!

Texas is looking for high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing and interested to form a new competitive robotics team.

Thanks to the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation and Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), Texas will form up to 25 new competitive VEX robotics teams, and is especially looking for students who have not participated in competitive robotics before. (Note: Teams consist of four members and may include hearing team members.)

With grants and support for all new teams and coaches, each team gets a VEX V5 Robotics kit ($1,500 value) plus $150 for the initial registration fee to compete.

VEX Team Coaches: For any adult (teachers, teacher aides, RDSPD staff, parents, community professionals, or volunteers) who will be involved with a VEX robotics team. Teacher Training will be provided to show you how to properly guide a VEX robotics team (more details coming soon). Check back at RobotEvents.com.

The Signature Event - where deaf and hard of hearing VEX robotics teams will compete against each other is an incredible first opportunity for students to experience competitive robotics while increasing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills and knowledge.
